Contributions to Scholarship and Literature

David Wemhoff’s body of work reflects his deep interest in exploring America’s socio-political and cultural dynamics. He edited Redeeming a Father’s Heart: Men Share Powerful Stories of Abortion Loss and Recovery (2007) and authored Just Be Catholic (2011), a practical guide on Catholic identity and living. His most ambitious project to date, John Courtney Murray, Time/Life, and the American Proposition , was seven years in the making and draws from over 30 collections of personal and official papers, as well as more than 500 additional sources. This 990-page work meticulously examines how the United States wielded ideological power during the Cold War to reshape global and religious narratives. It has been praised by leading scholars as an essential contribution to understanding America’s doctrinal influence.
