Catholicism, Protestantism, and Capitalism

Description

One of the most scholarly and comprehensive treatments of the antagonism between Catholic doctrine and the capitalist spirit.

mentioned by E. Michael Jones in his article on his book Barren Metal, re: Pope Pius XI's 1931 encyclical Quadragesimo Anno

Fanfani argues that Catholicism lead to the creation of capitalism, but that it and Catholicism are antogonistic. This is a similar story to the creation of modern physics: Catholicism (with its medieval universities) lead to its birth, but modern physics (as interpreted by prominent atheists like Lawrence Krause) has overstepped its bounds by becoming a scientistic philosophy inimical to Catholic doctrine.
