Bl. Bartolo's meditations very good, emphasizing Our Lady's virginity and purity:

• p. 157 (PDF p. 155): I really liked the 1st of the 15 weeks meditation on the Annunciation, how it said her humility attracted the Holy Ghost to come down to her from heaven (Dominican bishop St. Antoninus: "If Mary pleased God on account of her virginity , it was through humilily that she conceived the Son of God."), that she was so ardently praying for the Messiah that He actually came to her in the middle of the night ("The most humble eyes of Mary […] did such violenee to God himsell, that he was drawn into her womb.")! Such a mystery how can anything but God could be attractive to Him? He has all the goodness there is, has no need of us.
• p. 447 (PDF p. 445): 4 types of purity: purity in (1) body, (2) heart, (3) faith, (4) intention
• p. 448 (PDF p. 446): I never knew this: "She revealed to St. Dominic the Mystery of her Assumption in soul and body into heaven distinguished from that of her Crowning, while the Church during six centuries and a half celebrated the two Mysteries with one feast."
• p. 459 (PDF p. 457) addresses the "Intellect of Jesus"; cf. my ad lib Aquinas prayer: (cf. her proposed title: "Immaculate Intellect of Mary"):

St. Thomas Aquinas, patron of all Catholic universities, whom two angels girded by a chord to protect your purity and prevent any darkening of your brilliant intellect, pray that all we Catholic students maintain our purity so we, too, can love, serve, and know God with unspotted intellectual souls. Amen.

• pp. 467-8 says that Our Lady received the aureoles of virginity, martyrdom, and doctorship!
