Description
St. Augustine wrote De moribus Ecclesiae catholicae et de moribus Manichaeorum (388 A.D.; II, xviii, 65 [PDF p. 130]; PL 32, 1373) against the Manichean practice of periodic continence (nowadays called "Natural Family Planning" or NFP used to avoid children). I didn't know that existed in his era!
