Description
ref:21.1:
When I first started doing investigative journalism, not everyone who was pro-life agreed with my strategy. Journalists, of course, have been doing undercover work for more than a century. In 1887, Nellie Bly, a twenty-three-year-old journalist, feigned insanity to get admitted to a mental institution. She courageously spent ten days as a patient to document the institution’s abuse of patients. When Joseph Pulitzer published Bly’s exposé in the New York World , she was treated as a hero, and reformers took up her cause.
ch. 20 (ref:28.1) "Learn to Pivot" onwards was a sort of dissapointment; she seems to think her undercover investigation days were youthful foolishness, but now Live Action is properly pivoted/reoriented to "changing hearts and minds" (and presumably not making child-killing a criminal, illegal, punishable offense). She's now a career woman, making $375k per year. ☹
She cites St. Thomas Aquinas's definition of love/charity: to will the good of another (ref:10.14). She discusses Pascal's Wager (ref:11.15) etc., but she was always convinced there's a First Cause (ref:11.15). She was homeschooled, and translated St. Thomas Aquinas Summa articles to and from Latin, before she was even Catholic (ref:21.13)!
