Amen! And the first canonized saint in the Americas.

What I really like about her story is that it illustrates one saint (St. Catherine of Siena) influencing another and how books can be life-changing. From the biography by Sr. Mary Alphonsus, O.SS.R.:

Rose lost no time in petitioning the priest who heard her confessions for a privilege that she had been coveting since she learned to read. In her story book on the life of St. Catherine of Siena she had learned of the existence of a vow of virginity. She determined to make it herself. The step was, in Rose's eyes, the decisive step in her life, by which she fixed her resolution to live for Christ alone.
