Reading epubs online

In the Isidore.co library, I can open and read pdfs in the browser just fine.

However, epubs will not open. I keep getting this error message:

Failed to communicate with "/calibre/book-manifest/9689/EPUB?library_id=CalibreLibrary&1693839840535", with status: [500 (error)]
I'm using the Brave browser, and I get the same result in Chrome. Is it a browser limitation? Or can epubs just not be read online through the Calibre library software?

You're better off downloading the EPUB. Reading online involves the server converting the PDF or other format to HTML, which I've disabled.
